Job Description - Qualifications, Responsibilities & Duties

  • MUST have knowledge of manufacturing experience and experience in scheduling production.
  • MUST have working knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, etc.), SAP and/or other planning software.
  • Planning experience preferred but not required.
  • Schedule: M-F 8am-5pm with 1 hr lunch
  • Pay: Full-time, Salary/exempt; $50,000/annually

SUMMARY: While a job description may not fully encompass every detail of a position, the purpose of the following is to provide an outline of goals, responsibilities, ability and knowledge required in order to successfully perform this job. The Planning Coordinator will work within Aquafil’s Planning team, which is responsible for production planning and scheduling activities with respect to the highest possible level of efficiency.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES

  • Coordinate MRP flow by product code via SAP, Fast Planner, GORV forecast and other various planning tools.
  • Schedule campaigns cross functionally for the extrusion, masterbatch and finishing areas according to needs.
  • Maintain capacity utilization alongside managers for an optimal efficiency and output.
  • Notify manufacturing of customer order changes, as appropriate via the schedule and e-mails.
  • Support and maintain inventory turns of fibers, polymers, masterbatches and other consumable materials.
  • Review production stream lead-times to ensure inventory availability within on time deliveries.
  • Issue picking list for made to stock materials that are to be allocated to sales orders via booking.
  • Maintain excellent communication and customer service with timely responses with a sense of urgency.
  • Maintain great people and business skills with effective communication within and across all departments.
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism and work as a team to build solid working relationships.

MARGINAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Work with management in coordinating and planning production activities to improve runtime.
  • Plan production tasks, promise date, stock assignment and schedules according to customer orders.
  • Develop and review production plan with Managers for approval.
  • Monitor the execution of production plan and resolve any potential issues in a timely fashion.
  • Investigate production problems, analyze root causes and help provide solutions.
  • Communicate production status to Managers and Customers on regular basis.
  • Analyze back orders, current orders and upcoming orders to prioritize, plan, and schedule the production operations.
  • Coordinate with Managers in planning and implementing engineering changes in production lines.
  • Plan inventory management processes to avoid shortages and excesses.
  • Monitor production progress and ensure that final product meets quality standards and customer specifications.
  • Manage SAP Master Data for new and existing product codes, routings, bills of materials and costs.
  • Adhere to company standards and production policies to meet company objectives.
  • Analyze delays and interruptions and accordingly adjust production schedule to meet deadlines.
  • Maintain reports for production planning activities and sequences.
  • Assist the department to strive for excellence in fulfillment of on time deliveries and meeting customer’s expectations.
  • Assist in other duties and projects as assigned.
